No, I’m not talking about the men in our church, though it could apply. I’m talking about our new building. I had a brief sit-down with Pastor Dave about the project.
Q. Why the new building?
A. Because we were out of room in the old C.E. building. And as a church, we have seen God moving and working through our school.
The kids and families in the community need the opportunity for a great education, in a setting where they can experience and learn about God’s love as well. We wanted to cooperate with God in the direction He was leading and working—so the new building.
Q. Looking back, and ahead, what challenges regarding the project come to your mind?
A. One great challenge was paying down the debt of the sanctuary so that we could take on the loan for the new building.
With God’s help, working in His people, we accomplished that despite difficult economic times. The challenge ahead will be to meet our budget, which includes our regular ministries, plus the two loans for the new building.
Q. What makes you particularly thankful?
A. That we started the project in August 2008, and despite delays and all, were able to dedicate the building in May 2009.

Q. Pastor Dave, any final thoughts?
A. Only that it’s wonderfully ironic, as you write this article for the Men’s Newsletter, that God has used the faithful women of the church to make this ministry to boys and girls prosper. God uses us all.
II Chronicles 28:20 Then David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and courageous, and act; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord God, my God is with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you until all the work for the service of the house of the Lord is finished.”
